So they answered Jesus, “We do not know.” And he said to them, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.


If then David calls him Lord, how is he his son?”


And when Jesus saw that he answered wisely, he said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.” And after that no one dared to ask him any more questions.


As he said these things, all his adversaries were put to shame, and all the people rejoiced at all the glorious things that were done by him.


But they remained silent. Then he took him and healed him and sent him away.


And they could not reply to these things.


For they no longer dared to ask him any question.


But seeing the man who was healed standing beside them, they had nothing to say in opposition.


‘I am the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham and of Isaac and of Jacob.’ And Moses trembled and did not dare to look.
