Thus they would quench my coal that is left and leave to my husband neither name nor remnant on the face of the earth.”


Now therefore come, let me give you advice, that you may save your own life and the life of your son Solomon.


When the season for fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the tenants to get his fruit.


Finally he sent his son to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’


And they took him and threw him out of the vineyard and killed him.


But when the tenants saw him, they said to themselves, ‘This is the heir. Let us kill him, so that the inheritance may be ours.’


but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world.
