Cursed be their anger, for it is fierce, and their wrath, for it is cruel! I will divide them in Jacob and scatter them in Israel.


Wrath is cruel, anger is overwhelming, but who can stand before jealousy?


Bloodthirsty men hate one who is blameless and seek the life of the upright.


But you have eyes and heart only for your dishonest gain, for shedding innocent blood, and for practicing oppression and violence.”


therefore, as I live, declares the Lord God, I will prepare you for blood, and blood shall pursue you; because you did not hate bloodshed, therefore blood shall pursue you.


He sent and had John beheaded in the prison,


And his disciples came and took the body and buried it, and they went and told Jesus.


Prompted by her mother, she said, “Give me the head of John the Baptist here on a platter.”


For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and you have given them blood to drink. It is what they deserve!”


And I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints, the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. When I saw her, I marveled greatly.
