‘Say to Joseph, “Please forgive the transgression of your brothers and their sin, because they did evil to you.”’ And now, please forgive the transgression of the servants of the God of your father.” Joseph wept when they spoke to him.


they divide my garments among them, and for my clothing they cast lots.


Therefore I will divide him a portion with the many, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong, because he poured out his soul to death and was numbered with the transgressors; yet he bore the sin of many, and makes intercession for the transgressors.


At that time Jesus declared, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children;


yes, Father, for such was your gracious will.


But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,


And they crucified him and divided his garments among them, casting lots for them, to decide what each should take.


saying, “Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.”


I am praying for them. I am not praying for the world but for those whom you have given me, for they are yours.


Jesus answered him, “You would have no authority over me at all unless it had been given you from above. Therefore he who delivered me over to you has the greater sin.”


But Paul cried with a loud voice, “Do not harm yourself, for we are all here.”


“And now, brothers, I know that you acted in ignorance, as did also your rulers.


And falling to his knees he cried out with a loud voice, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.” And when he had said this, he fell asleep.


Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them.


None of the rulers of this age understood this, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.


and we labor, working with our own hands. When reviled, we bless; when persecuted, we endure;


though formerly I was a blasphemer, persecutor, and insolent opponent. But I received mercy because I had acted ignorantly in unbelief,


Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing.
