Leviticus 13:3 - English Standard Version 2016

3 and the priest shall examine the diseased area on the skin of his body. And if the hair in the diseased area has turned white and the disease appears to be deeper than the skin of his body, it is a case of leprous disease. When the priest has examined him, he shall pronounce him unclean.

And he journeyed on from the Negeb as far as Bethel to the place where his tent had been at the beginning, between Bethel and Ai,


“How sick is your heart, declares the Lord God, because you did all these things, the deeds of a brazen prostitute,


They shall teach my people the difference between the holy and the common, and show them how to distinguish between the unclean and the clean.


Strangers devour his strength, and he knows it not; gray hairs are sprinkled upon him, and he knows it not.


You are to distinguish between the holy and the common, and between the unclean and the clean,


and the priest shall look. And if there is a white swelling in the skin that has turned the hair white, and there is raw flesh in the swelling,


“When a person has on the skin of his body a swelling or an eruption or a spot, and it turns into a case of leprous disease on the skin of his body, then he shall be brought to Aaron the priest or to one of his sons the priests,


And the priest shall look, and if it appears deeper than the skin and its hair has turned white, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean. It is a case of leprous disease that has broken out in the boil.


But if the spot is white in the skin of his body and appears no deeper than the skin, and the hair in it has not turned white, the priest shall shut up the diseased person for seven days.


And the priest shall look, and if the eruption has spread in the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean; it is a leprous disease.


And he shall examine the disease. And if the disease is in the walls of the house with greenish or reddish spots, and if it appears to be deeper than the surface,


This is the law for any case of leprous disease: for an itch,


and for a swelling or an eruption or a spot,


or if he touches human uncleanness, of whatever sort the uncleanness may be with which one becomes unclean, and it is hidden from him, when he comes to know it, and realizes his guilt;


“Thus says the Lord of hosts: Ask the priests about the law:


For the lips of a priest should guard knowledge, and people should seek instruction from his mouth, for he is the messenger of the Lord of hosts.


I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”


If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you withhold forgiveness from any, it is withheld.”


Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood.


What then shall we say? That the law is sin? By no means! Yet if it had not been for the law, I would not have known sin. For I would not have known what it is to covet if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.”


among whom are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have handed over to Satan that they may learn not to blaspheme.


while evil people and impostors will go on from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.


Remember your leaders, those who spoke to you the word of God. Consider the outcome of their way of life, and imitate their faith.


and I will strike her children dead. And all the churches will know that I am he who searches mind and heart, and I will give to each of you according to your works.
