who sit in tombs, and spend the night in secret places; who eat pig’s flesh, and broth of tainted meat is in their vessels;


“Those who sanctify and purify themselves to go into the gardens, following one in the midst, eating pig’s flesh and the abomination and mice, shall come to an end together, declares the Lord.


“He who slaughters an ox is like one who kills a man; he who sacrifices a lamb, like one who breaks a dog’s neck; he who presents a grain offering, like one who offers pig’s blood; he who makes a memorial offering of frankincense, like one who blesses an idol. These have chosen their own ways, and their soul delights in their abominations;


Whatever parts the hoof and is cloven-footed and chews the cud, among the animals, you may eat.


And the hare, because it chews the cud but does not part the hoof, is unclean to you.


You shall not eat any of their flesh, and you shall not touch their carcasses; they are unclean to you.


“Do not give dogs what is holy, and do not throw your pearls before pigs, lest they trample them underfoot and turn to attack you.


So he went and hired himself out to one of the citizens of that country, who sent him into his fields to feed pigs.


Then the demons came out of the man and entered the pigs, and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and drowned.


And the pig, because it parts the hoof but does not chew the cud, is unclean for you. Their flesh you shall not eat, and their carcasses you shall not touch.
