We have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a polluted garment. We all fade like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.


They wandered, blind, through the streets; they were so defiled with blood that no one was able to touch their garments.


and whoever sleeps in the house shall wash his clothes, and whoever eats in the house shall wash his clothes.


And every garment and every skin on which the semen comes shall be washed with water and be unclean until the evening.


“I overthrew some of you, as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and you were as a brand plucked out of the burning; yet you did not return to me,” declares the Lord.


in order somehow to make my fellow Jews jealous, and thus save some of them.


Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.”


If anyone’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire.


Therefore, knowing the fear of the Lord, we persuade others. But what we are is known to God, and I hope it is known also to your conscience.


If anyone does not obey what we say in this letter, take note of that person, and have nothing to do with him, that he may be ashamed.


Keep a close watch on yourself and on the teaching. Persist in this, for by so doing you will save both yourself and your hearers.

And have mercy on those who doubt;


I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire, so that you may be rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself and the shame of your nakedness may not be seen, and salve to anoint your eyes, so that you may see.


Yet you have still a few names in Sardis, people who have not soiled their garments, and they will walk with me in white, for they are worthy.
