But the Pharisees went out and conspired against him, how to destroy him.


But when the tenants saw the son, they said to themselves, ‘This is the heir. Come, let us kill him and have his inheritance.’


And the chief priests and the scribes heard it and were seeking a way to destroy him, for they feared him, because all the crowd was astonished at his teaching.


And he said to them, “Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do harm, to save life or to kill?” But they were silent.


The Pharisees went out and immediately held counsel with the Herodians against him, how to destroy him.


For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.


Again they sought to arrest him, but he escaped from their hands.


So from that day on they made plans to put him to death.


And this was why the Jews were persecuting Jesus, because he was doing these things on the Sabbath.


This was why the Jews were seeking all the more to kill him, because not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God.


Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father. There is one who accuses you: Moses, on whom you have set your hope.


After this Jesus went about in Galilee. He would not go about in Judea, because the Jews were seeking to kill him.


Some of the people of Jerusalem therefore said, “Is not this the man whom they seek to kill?


This is the one who was in the congregation in the wilderness with the angel who spoke to him at Mount Sinai, and with our fathers. He received living oracles to give to us.


Why then the law? It was added because of transgressions, until the offspring should come to whom the promise had been made, and it was put in place through angels by an intermediary.


For even those who are circumcised do not themselves keep the law, but they desire to have you circumcised that they may boast in your flesh.


You shall not be partial in judgment. You shall hear the small and the great alike. You shall not be intimidated by anyone, for the judgment is God’s. And the case that is too hard for you, you shall bring to me, and I will hear it.’


when Moses commanded us a law, as a possession for the assembly of Jacob.
