In the time of his distress he became yet more faithless to the Lord—this same King Ahaz.


But after they had rest they did evil again before you, and you abandoned them to the hand of their enemies, so that they had dominion over them. Yet when they turned and cried to you, you heard from heaven, and many times you delivered them according to your mercies.


The Lord has disciplined me severely, but he has not given me over to death.


For all his rules were before me, and his statutes I did not put away from me.


And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me, and I will offer in his tent sacrifices with shouts of joy; I will sing and make melody to the Lord.


Be gracious to me, O Lord! See my affliction from those who hate me, O you who lift me up from the gates of death,


The Lord will save me, and we will play my music on stringed instruments all the days of our lives, at the house of the Lord.


Hezekiah also had said, “What is the sign that I shall go up to the house of the Lord?”


And the priest shall look, and if it appears deeper than the skin and its hair has turned white, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean. It is a case of leprous disease that has broken out in the boil.


“But if in spite of this you will not listen to me, but walk contrary to me,


If he offers it for a thanksgiving, then he shall offer with the thanksgiving sacrifice unleavened loaves mixed with oil, unleavened wafers smeared with oil, and loaves of fine flour well mixed with oil.


Then it goes and brings with it seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they enter and dwell there, and the last state of that person is worse than the first. So also will it be with this evil generation.”


And when Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven.”


Now the man who had been healed did not know who it was, for Jesus had withdrawn, as there was a crowd in the place.


One man was there who had been an invalid for thirty-eight years.


She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you; go, and from now on sin no more.”]]


For the time that is past suffices for doing what the Gentiles want to do, living in sensuality, passions, drunkenness, orgies, drinking parties, and lawless idolatry.
