Yet the righteous holds to his way, and he who has clean hands grows stronger and stronger.


They still bear fruit in old age; they are ever full of sap and green,


But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, which shines brighter and brighter until full day.


Therefore by this the guilt of Jacob will be atoned for, and this will be the full fruit of the removal of his sin: when he makes all the stones of the altars like chalkstones crushed to pieces, no Asherim or incense altars will remain standing.


The meek shall obtain fresh joy in the Lord, and the poor among mankind shall exult in the Holy One of Israel.


and some of the wise shall stumble, so that they may be refined, purified, and made white, until the time of the end, for it still awaits the appointed time.


Let us know; let us press on to know the Lord; his going out is sure as the dawn; he will come to us as the showers, as the spring rains that water the earth.”


He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver, and he will purify the sons of Levi and refine them like gold and silver, and they will bring offerings in righteousness to the Lord.


For to the one who has, more will be given, and he will have an abundance, but from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away.


He told them another parable. “The kingdom of heaven is like leaven that a woman took and hid in three measures of flour, till it was all leavened.”


He answered, “Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be rooted up.


And seeing a fig tree by the wayside, he went to it and found nothing on it but only leaves. And he said to it, “May no fruit ever come from you again!” And the fig tree withered at once.


For to everyone who has will more be given, and he will have an abundance. But from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away.


Even now the axe is laid to the root of the trees. Every tree therefore that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.


His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will clear his threshing floor and gather his wheat into the barn, but the chaff he will burn with unquenchable fire.”

But those that were sown on the good soil are the ones who hear the word and accept it and bear fruit, thirtyfold and sixtyfold and a hundredfold.”


And the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear the word, receive it with joy. But these have no root; they believe for a while, and in time of testing fall away.


“I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser.


You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.


Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you.


If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned.


By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples.


While I was with them, I kept them in your name, which you have given me. I have guarded them, and not one of them has been lost except the son of destruction, that the Scripture might be fulfilled.


But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, although a wild olive shoot, were grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing root of the olive tree,


Note then the kindness and the severity of God: severity toward those who have fallen, but God’s kindness to you, provided you continue in his kindness. Otherwise you too will be cut off.


And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.


If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.


who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.


See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God; that no “root of bitterness” springs up and causes trouble, and by it many become defiled;


They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us. But they went out, that it might become plain that they all are not of us.


Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent.
