From the time that he made him overseer in his house and over all that he had, the Lord blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake; the blessing of the Lord was on all that he had, in house and field.


he allowed no one to oppress them; he rebuked kings on their account,


If anyone stirs up strife, it is not from me; whoever stirs up strife with you shall fall because of you.


Thus says the Lord: “As the new wine is found in the cluster, and they say, ‘Do not destroy it, for there is a blessing in it,’ so I will do for my servants’ sake, and not destroy them all.


Then Jesus told them plainly, “Lazarus has died,


So Thomas, called the Twin, said to his fellow disciples, “Let us also go, that we may die with him.”


But when Jesus heard it he said, “This illness does not lead to death. It is for the glory of God, so that the Son of God may be glorified through it.”


Jesus answered, “This voice has come for your sake, not mine.


And for their sake I consecrate myself, that they also may be sanctified in truth.


This, the first of his signs, Jesus did at Cana in Galilee, and manifested his glory. And his disciples believed in him.


For it is all for your sake, so that as grace extends to more and more people it may increase thanksgiving, to the glory of God.


Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.


I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life.
