The Lord says to my Lord: “Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool.”


“As for me, I have set my King on Zion, my holy hill.”


Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.


Know therefore and understand that from the going out of the word to restore and build Jerusalem to the coming of an anointed one, a prince, there shall be seven weeks. Then for sixty-two weeks it shall be built again with squares and moat, but in a troubled time.


Afterward the children of Israel shall return and seek the Lord their God, and David their king, and they shall come in fear to the Lord and to his goodness in the latter days.


But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, who are too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel, whose coming forth is from of old, from ancient days.


The Lord has taken away the judgments against you; he has cleared away your enemies. The King of Israel, the Lord, is in your midst; you shall never again fear evil.


Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your king is coming to you; righteous and having salvation is he, humble and mounted on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.


And those in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”


saying, “Where is he who has been born king of the Jews? For we saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”


“Say to the daughter of Zion, ‘Behold, your king is coming to you, humble, and mounted on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a beast of burden.’”


and greetings in the marketplaces and being called rabbi by others.


But you are not to be called rabbi, for you have one teacher, and you are all brothers.


Now Jesus stood before the governor, and the governor asked him, “Are you the King of the Jews?” Jesus said, “You have said so.”


“He saved others; he cannot save himself. He is the King of Israel; let him come down now from the cross, and we will believe in him.


And the tempter came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command these stones to become loaves of bread.”


Let the Christ, the King of Israel, come down now from the cross that we may see and believe.” Those who were crucified with him also reviled him.


And the angel answered her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be called holy—the Son of God.


saying, “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”


No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father’s side, he has made him known.


And I have seen and have borne witness that this is the Son of God.”


Jesus turned and saw them following and said to them, “What are you seeking?” And they said to him, “Rabbi” (which means Teacher), “where are you staying?”


Jesus answered him, “Because I said to you, ‘I saw you under the fig tree,’ do you believe? You will see greater things than these.”


Then Pilate said to him, “So you are a king?” Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world—to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.”


Meanwhile the disciples were urging him, saying, “Rabbi, eat.”
