Yet he saved them for his name’s sake, that he might make known his mighty power.


Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name give glory, for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness!


For your name’s sake, O Lord, pardon my guilt, for it is great.


Remember not the sins of my youth or my transgressions; according to your steadfast love remember me, for the sake of your goodness, O Lord!


For I will defend this city to save it, for my own sake and for the sake of my servant David.”


I am the Lord; that is my name; my glory I give to no other, nor my praise to carved idols.


“I, I am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake, and I will not remember your sins.


I declared them to you from of old, before they came to pass I announced them to you, lest you should say, ‘My idol did them, my carved image and my metal image commanded them.’


“For my name’s sake I defer my anger; for the sake of my praise I restrain it for you, that I may not cut you off.


Now therefore what have I here,” declares the Lord, “seeing that my people are taken away for nothing? Their rulers wail,” declares the Lord, “and continually all the day my name is despised.


“Though our iniquities testify against us, act, O Lord, for your name’s sake; for our backslidings are many; we have sinned against you.


But I acted for the sake of my name, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, in whose sight I had brought them out.


But I withheld my hand and acted for the sake of my name, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, in whose sight I had brought them out.


“As for you, O house of Israel, thus says the Lord God: Go serve every one of you his idols, now and hereafter, if you will not listen to me; but my holy name you shall no more profane with your gifts and your idols.


And you shall know that I am the Lord, when I deal with you for my name’s sake, not according to your evil ways, nor according to your corrupt deeds, O house of Israel, declares the Lord God.”


But I acted for the sake of my name, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations among whom they lived, in whose sight I made myself known to them in bringing them out of the land of Egypt.


“Therefore say to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord God: It is not for your sake, O house of Israel, that I am about to act, but for the sake of my holy name, which you have profaned among the nations to which you came.


Now therefore, O our God, listen to the prayer of your servant and to his pleas for mercy, and for your own sake, O Lord, make your face to shine upon your sanctuary, which is desolate.


that all may honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him.


For, as it is written, “The name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you.”


For the Lord will not forsake his people, for his great name’s sake, because it has pleased the Lord to make you a people for himself.
