for he says: “Are not my commanders all kings?


How then can you repulse a single captain among the least of my master’s servants, when you trust in Egypt for chariots and for horsemen?


They will plunder your riches and loot your merchandise. They will break down your walls and destroy your pleasant houses. Your stones and timber and soil they will cast into the midst of the waters.


You increased your merchants more than the stars of the heavens. The locust spreads its wings and flies away.


Tyre has built herself a rampart and heaped up silver like dust, and fine gold like the mud of the streets.


and the light of a lamp will shine in you no more, and the voice of bridegroom and bride will be heard in you no more, for your merchants were the great ones of the earth, and all nations were deceived by your sorcery.


For this reason her plagues will come in a single day, death and mourning and famine, and she will be burned up with fire; for mighty is the Lord God who has judged her.”
