Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.


Take a bunch of hyssop and dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and touch the lintel and the two doorposts with the blood that is in the basin. None of you shall go out of the door of his house until the morning.


so shall he sprinkle many nations. Kings shall shut their mouths because of him, for that which has not been told them they see, and that which they have not heard they understand.


I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you.


“If his gift for a burnt offering is from the flock, from the sheep or goats, he shall bring a male without blemish,


“If his offering for a sacrifice of peace offering to the Lord is an animal from the flock, male or female, he shall offer it without blemish.


Then a clean person shall take hyssop and dip it in the water and sprinkle it on the tent and on all the furnishings and on the persons who were there and on whoever touched the bone, or the slain or the dead or the grave.


And the priest shall take cedarwood and hyssop and scarlet yarn, and throw them into the fire burning the heifer.


And they stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him,


And they clothed him in a purple cloak, and twisting together a crown of thorns, they put it on him.


And when they had mocked him, they stripped him of the purple cloak and put his own clothes on him. And they led him out to crucify him.


And the soldiers twisted together a crown of thorns and put it on his head and arrayed him in a purple robe.


So Jesus came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. Pilate said to them, “Behold the man!”


Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets,


let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.


For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.


and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.


he entered once for all into the holy places, not by means of the blood of goats and calves but by means of his own blood, thus securing an eternal redemption.
