13 But Jacob said to him, “My lord knows that the children are frail, and that the nursing flocks and herds are a care to me. If they are driven hard for one day, all the flocks will die.

Then Esau said, “Let us journey on our way, and I will go ahead of you.”


Let my lord pass on ahead of his servant, and I will lead on slowly, at the pace of the livestock that are ahead of me and at the pace of the children, until I come to my lord in Seir.”


For David said, “Solomon my son is young and inexperienced, and the house that is to be built for the Lord must be exceedingly magnificent, of fame and glory throughout all lands. I will therefore make preparation for it.” So David provided materials in great quantity before his death.


from following the nursing ewes he brought him to shepherd Jacob his people, Israel his inheritance.


Whoever is righteous has regard for the life of his beast, but the mercy of the wicked is cruel.


He will tend his flock like a shepherd; he will gather the lambs in his arms; he will carry them in his bosom, and gently lead those that are with young.


The men did so, and took two milk cows and yoked them to the cart and shut up their calves at home.
