But I will establish my covenant with Isaac, whom Sarah shall bear to you at this time next year.”


The Lord said, “I will surely return to you about this time next year, and Sarah your wife shall have a son.” And Sarah was listening at the tent door behind him.


The Lord said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh and say, ‘Shall I indeed bear a child, now that I am old?’


But Sarah denied it, saying, “I did not laugh,” for she was afraid. He said, “No, but you did laugh.”


The Lord visited Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did to Sarah as he had promised.


And Sarah conceived and bore Abraham a son in his old age at the time of which God had spoken to him.


And he said, “At this season, about this time next year, you shall embrace a son.” And she said, “No, my lord, O man of God; do not lie to your servant.”


“Behold, God is mighty, and does not despise any; he is mighty in strength of understanding.


“I know that you can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted.


Return, O Lord! How long? Have pity on your servants!


The Lord reigns; he is robed in majesty; the Lord is robed; he has put on strength as his belt. Yes, the world is established; it shall never be moved.


For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.


Why, when I came, was there no man; why, when I called, was there no one to answer? Is my hand shortened, that it cannot redeem? Or have I no power to deliver? Behold, by my rebuke I dry up the sea, I make the rivers a desert; their fish stink for lack of water and die of thirst.


‘Ah, Lord God! It is you who have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for you.


“Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is anything too hard for me?


As he came near to the den where Daniel was, he cried out in a tone of anguish. The king declared to Daniel, “O Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to deliver you from the lions?”

Jesus looked at them and said, “With man it is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God.”


But the angel said to him, “Do not be afraid, Zechariah, for your prayer has been heard, and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John.


And Zechariah said to the angel, “How shall I know this? For I am an old man, and my wife is advanced in years.”


For nothing will be impossible with God.”


But Jesus on hearing this answered him, “Do not fear; only believe, and she will be well.”

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us,


then the Lord your God will restore your fortunes and have mercy on you, and he will gather you again from all the peoples where the Lord your God has scattered you.


You shall not be in dread of them, for the Lord your God is in your midst, a great and awesome God.
