Then Moses and Aaron went and gathered together all the elders of the people of Israel.


And the people believed; and when they heard that the Lord had visited the people of Israel and that he had seen their affliction, they bowed their heads and worshiped.


“that they may believe that the Lord, the God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has appeared to you.”


Then the chief priests and the elders of the people gathered in the palace of the high priest, whose name was Caiaphas,


“Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, for he has visited and redeemed his people


and tear you down to the ground, you and your children within you. And they will not leave one stone upon another in you, because you did not know the time of your visitation.”


And they did so, sending it to the elders by the hand of Barnabas and Saul.


Simeon has related how God first visited the Gentiles, to take from them a people for his name.


Now from Miletus he sent to Ephesus and called the elders of the church to come to him.


Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation.
