Now then, let the fear of the Lord be upon you. Be careful what you do, for there is no injustice with the Lord our God, or partiality or taking bribes.”


to do justice to the fatherless and the oppressed, so that man who is of the earth may strike terror no more.


The Lord works righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed.


The Lord is good to all, and his mercy is over all that he has made.


The Lord watches over the sojourners; he upholds the widow and the fatherless, but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin.


Father of the fatherless and protector of widows is God in his holy habitation.


God settles the solitary in a home; he leads out the prisoners to prosperity, but the rebellious dwell in a parched land.


“Whoever sacrifices to any god, other than the Lord alone, shall be devoted to destruction.


“You shall not wrong a sojourner or oppress him, for you were sojourners in the land of Egypt.


You shall not mistreat any widow or fatherless child.


If you do mistreat them, and they cry out to me, I will surely hear their cry,


learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow’s cause.


Leave your fatherless children; I will keep them alive; and let your widows trust in me.”


Assyria shall not save us; we will not ride on horses; and we will say no more, ‘Our God,’ to the work of our hands. In you the orphan finds mercy.”


“If your brother becomes poor and cannot maintain himself with you, you shall support him as though he were a stranger and a sojourner, and he shall live with you.


And if you do go with us, whatever good the Lord will do to us, the same will we do to you.”


so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.


Yet he did not leave himself without witness, for he did good by giving you rains from heaven and fruitful seasons, satisfying your hearts with food and gladness.”
