23 To you, O God of my fathers, I give thanks and praise, for you have given me wisdom and might, and have now made known to me what we asked of you, for you have made known to us the king’s matter.”

The Lord said, “Shall I hide from Abraham what I am about to do,


If the God of my father, the God of Abraham and the Fear of Isaac, had not been on my side, surely now you would have sent me away empty-handed. God saw my affliction and the labor of my hands and rebuked you last night.”


And at the time of the offering of the oblation, Elijah the prophet came near and said, “O Lord, God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, let it be known this day that you are God in Israel, and that I am your servant, and that I have done all these things at your word.


The Lord our God be with us, as he was with our fathers. May he not leave us or forsake us,


Therefore David blessed the Lord in the presence of all the assembly. And David said: “Blessed are you, O Lord, the God of Israel our father, forever and ever.

A wise man scales the city of the mighty and brings down the stronghold in which they trust.


A wise man is full of strength, and a man of knowledge enhances his might,


I have counsel and sound wisdom; I have insight; I have strength.


Wisdom gives strength to the wise man more than ten rulers who are in a city.


But I say that wisdom is better than might, though the poor man’s wisdom is despised and his words are not heard.


Wisdom is better than weapons of war, but one sinner destroys much good.


You will say in that day: “I will give thanks to you, O Lord, for though you were angry with me, your anger turned away, that you might comfort me.


Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.


As for these four youths, God gave them learning and skill in all literature and wisdom, and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.


and told them to seek mercy from the God of heaven concerning this mystery, so that Daniel and his companions might not be destroyed with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.


“For the Lord God does nothing without revealing his secret to his servants the prophets.

No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.
