But those who turn aside to their crooked ways the Lord will lead away with evildoers! Peace be upon Israel!


The words of his mouth are trouble and deceit; he has ceased to act wisely and do good.


The violence of the wicked will sweep them away, because they refuse to do what is just.


Your princes are rebels and companions of thieves. Everyone loves a bribe and runs after gifts. They do not bring justice to the fatherless, and the widow’s cause does not come to them.


Woe to those who decree iniquitous decrees, and the writers who keep writing oppression,


“Listen to me, you stubborn of heart, you who are far from righteousness:


Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!


For the vineyard of the Lord of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah are his pleasant planting; and he looked for justice, but behold, bloodshed; for righteousness, but behold, an outcry!


But when a righteous person turns away from his righteousness and does injustice and does the same abominations that the wicked person does, shall he live? None of the righteous deeds that he has done shall be remembered; for the treachery of which he is guilty and the sin he has committed, for them he shall die.


Again, if a righteous person turns from his righteousness and commits injustice, and I lay a stumbling block before him, he shall die. Because you have not warned him, he shall die for his sin, and his righteous deeds that he has done shall not be remembered, but his blood I will require at your hand.


When the righteous turns from his righteousness and does injustice, he shall die for it.


They utter mere words; with empty oaths they make covenants; so judgment springs up like poisonous weeds in the furrows of the field.


I will cut off the ruler from its midst, and will kill all its princes with him,” says the Lord.


“They do not know how to do right,” declares the Lord, “those who store up violence and robbery in their strongholds.”


Do horses run on rocks? Does one plow there with oxen? But you have turned justice into poison and the fruit of righteousness into wormwood—


Hear this, you heads of the house of Jacob and rulers of the house of Israel, who detest justice and make crooked all that is straight,


So the law is paralyzed, and justice never goes forth. For the wicked surround the righteous; so justice goes forth perverted.


those who have turned back from following the Lord, who do not seek the Lord or inquire of him.”


Beware lest there be among you a man or woman or clan or tribe whose heart is turning away today from the Lord our God to go and serve the gods of those nations. Beware lest there be among you a root bearing poisonous and bitter fruit,
