He it is who makes the clouds rise at the end of the earth, who makes lightnings for the rain and brings forth the wind from his storehouses.


You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar.


He sends out his word, and melts them; he makes his wind blow and the waters flow.


the one who by his strength established the mountains, being girded with might;


So Moses stretched out his hand toward heaven, and there was pitch darkness in all the land of Egypt three days.

Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand and marked off the heavens with a span, enclosed the dust of the earth in a measure and weighed the mountains in scales and the hills in a balance?


I form light and create darkness; I make well-being and create calamity; I am the Lord, who does all these things.


Our Redeemer—the Lord of hosts is his name— is the Holy One of Israel.

“So you, by the help of your God, return, hold fast to love and justice, and wait continually for your God.”


a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and thick darkness! Like blackness there is spread upon the mountains a great and powerful people; their like has never been before, nor will be again after them through the years of all generations.


“Hear, and testify against the house of Jacob,” declares the Lord God, the God of hosts,


and I will send you into exile beyond Damascus,” says the Lord, whose name is the God of hosts.


He who made the Pleiades and Orion, and turns deep darkness into the morning and darkens the day into night, who calls for the waters of the sea and pours them out on the surface of the earth, the Lord is his name;


The Lord God has sworn by himself, declares the Lord, the God of hosts: “I abhor the pride of Jacob and hate his strongholds, and I will deliver up the city and all that is in it.”


“And on that day,” declares the Lord God, “I will make the sun go down at noon and darken the earth in broad daylight.


who builds his upper chambers in the heavens and founds his vault upon the earth; who calls for the waters of the sea and pours them out upon the surface of the earth— the Lord is his name.


For behold, the Lord is coming out of his place, and will come down and tread upon the high places of the earth.


God, the Lord, is my strength; he makes my feet like the deer’s; he makes me tread on my high places. To the choirmaster: with stringed instruments.


The oracle of the word of the Lord concerning Israel: Thus declares the Lord, who stretched out the heavens and founded the earth and formed the spirit of man within him:


But Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, “Why do you think evil in your hearts?


and needed no one to bear witness about man, for he himself knew what was in man.


The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.”


He made him ride on the high places of the land, and he ate the produce of the field, and he suckled him with honey out of the rock, and oil out of the flinty rock.


Happy are you, O Israel! Who is like you, a people saved by the Lord, the shield of your help, and the sword of your triumph! Your enemies shall come fawning to you, and you shall tread upon their backs.”
