“If you lend money to any of my people with you who is poor, you shall not be like a moneylender to him, and you shall not exact interest from him.


On a high and lofty mountain you have set your bed, and there you went up to offer sacrifice.


oppresses the poor and needy, commits robbery, does not restore the pledge, lifts up his eyes to the idols, commits abomination,


does not oppress anyone, but restores to the debtor his pledge, commits no robbery, gives his bread to the hungry and covers the naked with a garment,


You sat on a stately couch, with a table spread before it on which you had placed my incense and my oil.


They feed on the sin of my people; they are greedy for their iniquity.


They do not cry to me from the heart, but they wail upon their beds; for grain and wine they gash themselves; they rebel against me.


“that on the day I punish Israel for his transgressions, I will punish the altars of Bethel, and the horns of the altar shall be cut off and fall to the ground.


“Hear this word, you cows of Bashan, who are on the mountain of Samaria, who oppress the poor, who crush the needy, who say to your husbands, ‘Bring, that we may drink!’


“Woe to those who lie on beds of ivory and stretch themselves out on their couches, and eat lambs from the flock and calves from the midst of the stall,


who drink wine in bowls and anoint themselves with the finest oils, but are not grieved over the ruin of Joseph!


You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You cannot partake of the table of the Lord and the table of demons.


Do not be idolaters as some of them were; as it is written, “The people sat down to eat and drink and rose up to play.”


For if anyone sees you who have knowledge eating in an idol’s temple, will he not be encouraged, if his conscience is weak, to eat food offered to idols?


And they went out into the field and gathered the grapes from their vineyards and trod them and held a festival; and they went into the house of their god and ate and drank and reviled Abimelech.
