13 The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, the God of our fathers, glorified his servant Jesus, whom you delivered over and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he had decided to release him.

Then Moses said to God, “If I come to the people of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ what shall I say to them?”


God also said to Moses, “Say this to the people of Israel: ‘The Lord, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.’ This is my name forever, and thus I am to be remembered throughout all generations.


And he said, “I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God.


All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.


and deliver him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified, and he will be raised on the third day.”


‘I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? He is not God of the dead, but of the living.”


And they bound him and led him away and delivered him over to Pilate the governor.


And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.


But the chief priests stirred up the crowd to have him release for them Barabbas instead.


But he denied it, saying, “Woman, I do not know him.”


Then Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowds, “I find no guilt in this man.”


“Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven;


His disciples did not understand these things at first, but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things had been written about him and had been done to him.


They cried out again, “Not this man, but Barabbas!” Now Barabbas was a robber.


Jesus answered him, “You would have no authority over me at all unless it had been given you from above. Therefore he who delivered me over to you has the greater sin.”


From then on Pilate sought to release him, but the Jews cried out, “If you release this man, you are not Caesar’s friend. Everyone who makes himself a king opposes Caesar.”


They cried out, “Away with him, away with him, crucify him!” Pilate said to them, “Shall I crucify your King?” The chief priests answered, “We have no king but Caesar.”


Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive, for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.


And he said, ‘The God of our fathers appointed you to know his will, to see the Righteous One and to hear a voice from his mouth;


But this I confess to you, that according to the Way, which they call a sect, I worship the God of our fathers, believing everything laid down by the Law and written in the Prophets,


And when Peter saw it he addressed the people: “Men of Israel, why do you wonder at this, or why do you stare at us, as though by our own power or piety we have made him walk?


God, having raised up his servant, sent him to you first, to bless you by turning every one of you from your wickedness.”


for truly in this city there were gathered together against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, along with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel,


while you stretch out your hand to heal, and signs and wonders are performed through the name of your holy servant Jesus.”


‘I am the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham and of Isaac and of Jacob.’ And Moses trembled and did not dare to look.


To them belong the patriarchs, and from their race, according to the flesh, is the Christ, who is God over all, blessed forever. Amen.


But we see him who for a little while was made lower than the angels, namely Jesus, crowned with glory and honor because of the suffering of death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.


and the living one. I died, and behold I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of Death and Hades.


and from Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of kings on earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood
