Moreover, I saw under the sun that in the place of justice, even there was wickedness, and in the place of righteousness, even there was wickedness.


“You shall do no injustice in court. You shall not be partial to the poor or defer to the great, but in righteousness shall you judge your neighbor.


“You shall do no wrong in judgment, in measures of length or weight or quantity.


O you who turn justice to wormwood and cast down righteousness to the earth!


Annas then sent him bound to Caiaphas the high priest.


“Does our law judge a man without first giving him a hearing and learning what he does?”


Those who stood by said, “Would you revile God’s high priest?”
