Blessed is the one who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting beside my doors.


Therefore I am full of the wrath of the Lord; I am weary of holding it in. “Pour it out upon the children in the street, and upon the gatherings of young men, also; both husband and wife shall be taken, the elderly and the very aged.


And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.


Therefore whatever you have said in the dark shall be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in private rooms shall be proclaimed on the housetops.


a devout man who feared God with all his household, gave alms generously to the people, and prayed continually to God.


So Paul stood up, and motioning with his hand said: “Men of Israel and you who fear God, listen.


And after the meeting of the synagogue broke up, many Jews and devout converts to Judaism followed Paul and Barnabas, who, as they spoke with them, urged them to continue in the grace of God.


But the Jews incited the devout women of high standing and the leading men of the city, stirred up persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and drove them out of their district.


Devout men buried Stephen and made great lamentation over him.


And immediately he proclaimed Jesus in the synagogues, saying, “He is the Son of God.”


For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy,


having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.
