Barnabas they called Zeus, and Paul, Hermes, because he was the chief speaker.


they learned of it and fled to Lystra and Derbe, cities of Lycaonia, and to the surrounding country,


They were waiting for him to swell up or suddenly fall down dead. But when they had waited a long time and saw no misfortune come to him, they changed their minds and said that he was a god.


They all paid attention to him, from the least to the greatest, saying, “This man is the power of God that is called Great.”
