And he said to me, ‘Stand beside me and kill me, for anguish has seized me, and yet my life still lingers.’


And he took the crown of their king from his head. The weight of it was a talent of gold, and in it was a precious stone, and it was placed on David’s head. And he brought out the spoil of the city, a very great amount.


Then he brought out the king’s son and put the crown on him and gave him the testimony. And they proclaimed him king and anointed him, and they clapped their hands and said, “Long live the king!”


The crown has fallen from our head; woe to us, for we have sinned!


For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you.
