For he sees that even the wise die; the fool and the stupid alike must perish and leave their wealth to others.


The stupid man cannot know; the fool cannot understand this:


Understand, O dullest of the people! Fools, when will you be wise?


The wicked is overthrown through his evildoing, but the righteous finds refuge in his death.


For the shepherds are stupid and do not inquire of the Lord; therefore they have not prospered, and all their flock is scattered.


They are both stupid and foolish; the instruction of idols is but wood!


But you, O Lord, know me; you see me, and test my heart toward you. Pull them out like sheep for the slaughter, and set them apart for the day of slaughter.


“For my people are foolish; they know me not; they are stupid children; they have no understanding. They are ‘wise’—in doing evil! But how to do good they know not.”


Then I said, “These are only the poor; they have no sense; for they do not know the way of the Lord, the justice of their God.


And I will pour out my indignation upon you; I will blow upon you with the fire of my wrath, and I will deliver you into the hands of brutish men, skillful to destroy.


coveting, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride, foolishness.


So he said to them again, “I am going away, and you will seek me, and you will die in your sin. Where I am going, you cannot come.”


For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.


(referring to things that all perish as they are used)—according to human precepts and teachings?


by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.


They promise them freedom, but they themselves are slaves of corruption. For whatever overcomes a person, to that he is enslaved.


But these people blaspheme all that they do not understand, and they are destroyed by all that they, like unreasoning animals, understand instinctively.
