but you shall be called the priests of the Lord; they shall speak of you as the ministers of our God; you shall eat the wealth of the nations, and in their glory you shall boast.


The grain offering and the drink offering are cut off from the house of the Lord. The priests mourn, the ministers of the Lord.


Between the vestibule and the altar let the priests, the ministers of the Lord, weep and say, “Spare your people, O Lord, and make not your heritage a reproach, a byword among the nations. Why should they say among the peoples, ‘Where is their God?’”


By your endurance you will gain your lives.


I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”


“Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested to you by God with mighty works and wonders and signs that God did through him in your midst, as you yourselves know—


You yourselves know that these hands ministered to my necessities and to those who were with me.


For I will show him how much he must suffer for the sake of my name.”


Whoever thus serves Christ is acceptable to God and approved by men.

But if our unrighteousness serves to show the righteousness of God, what shall we say? That God is unrighteous to inflict wrath on us? (I speak in a human way.)


but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.


What then is Apollos? What is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, as the Lord assigned to each.


This is how one should regard us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God.


If we have sown spiritual things among you, is it too much if we reap material things from you?


Are they servants of Christ? I am a better one—I am talking like a madman—with far greater labors, far more imprisonments, with countless beatings, and often near death.


in toil and hardship, through many a sleepless night, in hunger and thirst, often without food, in cold and exposure.

The signs of a true apostle were performed among you with utmost patience, with signs and wonders and mighty works.


For we are not, like so many, peddlers of God’s word, but as men of sincerity, as commissioned by God, in the sight of God we speak in Christ.


who has made us sufficient to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.


For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison,


But we have renounced disgraceful, underhanded ways. We refuse to practice cunning or to tamper with God’s word, but by the open statement of the truth we would commend ourselves to everyone’s conscience in the sight of God.


We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair;


For see what earnestness this godly grief has produced in you, but also what eagerness to clear yourselves, what indignation, what fear, what longing, what zeal, what punishment! At every point you have proved yourselves innocent in the matter.


being strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy;


Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I am filling up what is lacking in Christ’s afflictions for the sake of his body, that is, the church,


for this reason, brothers, in all our distress and affliction we have been comforted about you through your faith.


And we urge you, brothers, admonish the idle, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with them all.


Yet she will be saved through childbearing—if they continue in faith and love and holiness, with self-control.


If you put these things before the brothers, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, being trained in the words of the faith and of the good doctrine that you have followed.


But as for you, O man of God, flee these things. Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness.


Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord, nor of me his prisoner, but share in suffering for the gospel by the power of God,


And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil,


As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.


Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,


I, John, your brother and partner in the tribulation and the kingdom and the patient endurance that are in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos on account of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.


Because you have kept my word about patient endurance, I will keep you from the hour of trial that is coming on the whole world, to try those who dwell on the earth.
