but in every nation anyone who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him.


Whoever thus serves Christ is acceptable to God and approved by men.


For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s.


and thus I make it my ambition to preach the gospel, not where Christ has already been named, lest I build on someone else’s foundation,


Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.


So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord,


Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord.


to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved.


so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;


For this I toil, struggling with all his energy that he powerfully works within me.


Finally, then, brothers, we ask and urge you in the Lord Jesus, that as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God, just as you are doing, that you do so more and more.


and to aspire to live quietly, and to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands, as we instructed you,


For to this end we toil and strive, because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe.


Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe,


Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience.


Therefore, beloved, since you are waiting for these, be diligent to be found by him without spot or blemish, and at peace.
