So the disciples determined, every one according to his ability, to send relief to the brothers living in Judea.


And after Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and debate with them, Paul and Barnabas and some of the others were appointed to go up to Jerusalem to the apostles and the elders about this question.


Now Barnabas wanted to take with them John called Mark.


For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.


What do you wish? Shall I come to you with a rod, or with love in a spirit of gentleness?


For though absent in body, I am present in spirit; and as if present, I have already pronounced judgment on the one who did such a thing.


But I call God to witness against me—it was to spare you that I refrained from coming again to Corinth.


For this reason I write these things while I am away from you, that when I come I may not have to be severe in my use of the authority that the Lord has given me for building up and not for tearing down.


For I wrote to you out of much affliction and anguish of heart and with many tears, not to cause you pain but to let you know the abundant love that I have for you.


When I send Artemas or Tychicus to you, do your best to come to me at Nicopolis, for I have decided to spend the winter there.
