and forgive your people who have sinned against you, and all their transgressions that they have committed against you, and grant them compassion in the sight of those who carried them captive, that they may have compassion on them


Now the rest of the deeds of Menahem and all that he did, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?


Therefore the Lord was very angry with Israel and removed them out of his sight. None was left but the tribe of Judah only.

If you, O Lord, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand?


Enter not into judgment with your servant, for no one living is righteous before you.


Who can say, “I have made my heart pure; I am clean from my sin”?


Surely there is not a righteous man on earth who does good and never sins.


They will fall by the edge of the sword and be led captive among all nations, and Jerusalem will be trampled underfoot by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.


“The Lord will bring you and your king whom you set over you to a nation that neither you nor your fathers have known. And there you shall serve other gods of wood and stone.


For we all stumble in many ways. And if anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle his whole body.
