The children struggled together within her, and she said, “If it is thus, why is this happening to me?” So she went to inquire of the Lord.


And when David arose in the morning, the word of the Lord came to the prophet Gad, David’s seer, saying,


Yet the Lord warned Israel and Judah by every prophet and every seer, saying, “Turn from your evil ways and keep my commandments and my statutes, in accordance with all the Law that I commanded your fathers, and that I sent to you by my servants the prophets.”


And the Lord spoke to Gad, David’s seer, saying,


Also all that Samuel the seer and Saul the son of Kish and Abner the son of Ner and Joab the son of Zeruiah had dedicated—all dedicated gifts were in the care of Shelomoth and his brothers.


Now the acts of King David, from first to last, are written in the Chronicles of Samuel the seer, and in the Chronicles of Nathan the prophet, and in the Chronicles of Gad the seer,


All these, who were chosen as gatekeepers at the thresholds, were 212. They were enrolled by genealogies in their villages. David and Samuel the seer established them in their office of trust.


Then Asa was angry with the seer and put him in the stocks in prison, for he was in a rage with him because of this. And Asa inflicted cruelties upon some of the people at the same time.

And Amaziah said to Amos, “O seer, go, flee away to the land of Judah, and eat bread there, and prophesy there,


If the whole body were an eye, where would be the sense of hearing? If the whole body were an ear, where would be the sense of smell?


After the death of Joshua, the people of Israel inquired of the Lord, “Who shall go up first for us against the Canaanites, to fight against them?”


And they said to him, “Inquire of God, please, that we may know whether the journey on which we are setting out will succeed.”


And Saul said to his servant, “Well said; come, let us go.” So they went to the city where the man of God was.
