And Sarai said to Abram, “May the wrong done to me be on you! I gave my servant to your embrace, and when she saw that she had conceived, she looked on me with contempt. May the Lord judge between you and me!”


Then the Spirit clothed Amasai, chief of the thirty, and he said, “We are yours, O David, and with you, O son of Jesse! Peace, peace to you, and peace to your helpers! For your God helps you.” Then David received them and made them officers of his troops.


“Behold, everyone who uses proverbs will use this proverb about you: ‘Like mother, like daughter.’


For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander.


Thus you will recognize them by their fruits.


I therefore have not sinned against you, and you do me wrong by making war on me. The Lord, the Judge, decide this day between the people of Israel and the people of Ammon.”
