And it shall come to pass, if they will diligently learn the ways of my people, to swear by my name, ‘As the Lord lives,’ even as they taught my people to swear by Baal, then they shall be built up in the midst of my people.


and if you swear, ‘As the Lord lives,’ in truth, in justice, and in righteousness, then nations shall bless themselves in him, and in him shall they glory.”


Though they say, “As the Lord lives,” yet they swear falsely.


Those who swear by the Guilt of Samaria, and say, ‘As your god lives, O Dan,’ and, ‘As the Way of Beersheba lives,’ they shall fall, and never rise again.”


And I will shoot three arrows to the side of it, as though I shot at a mark.


But if I say to the youth, ‘Look, the arrows are beyond you,’ then go, for the Lord has sent you away.


And he said to his boy, “Run and find the arrows that I shoot.” As the boy ran, he shot an arrow beyond him.
