45 Then the people said to Saul, “Shall Jonathan die, who has worked this great salvation in Israel? Far from it! As the Lord lives, there shall not one hair of his head fall to the ground, for he has worked with God this day.” So the people ransomed Jonathan, so that he did not die.

Then she said, “Please let the king invoke the Lord your God, that the avenger of blood kill no more, and my son be not destroyed.” He said, “As the Lord lives, not one hair of your son shall fall to the ground.”


And Solomon said, “If he will show himself a worthy man, not one of his hairs shall fall to the earth, but if wickedness is found in him, he shall die.”


And behold, Amariah the chief priest is over you in all matters of the Lord; and Zebadiah the son of Ishmael, the governor of the house of Judah, in all the king’s matters, and the Levites will serve you as officers. Deal courageously, and may the Lord be with the upright!”


Therefore you gave them into the hand of their enemies, who made them suffer. And in the time of their suffering they cried out to you and you heard them from heaven, and according to your great mercies you gave them saviors who saved them from the hand of their enemies.


I myself have commanded my consecrated ones, and have summoned my mighty men to execute my anger, my proudly exulting ones.


But even the hairs of your head are all numbered.


But not a hair of your head will perish.


And when they arrived and gathered the church together, they declared all that God had done with them, and how he had opened a door of faith to the Gentiles.


And all the assembly fell silent, and they listened to Barnabas and Paul as they related what signs and wonders God had done through them among the Gentiles.


After greeting them, he related one by one the things that God had done among the Gentiles through his ministry.


Therefore I urge you to take some food. For it will give you strength, for not a hair is to perish from the head of any of you.”


For I will not venture to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me to bring the Gentiles to obedience—by word and deed,


For we are God’s fellow workers. You are God’s field, God’s building.


Working together with him, then, we appeal to you not to receive the grace of God in vain.


They will make war on the Lamb, and the Lamb will conquer them, for he is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those with him are called and chosen and faithful.”


And the armies of heaven, arrayed in fine linen, white and pure, were following him on white horses.


But Saul said, “Not a man shall be put to death this day, for today the Lord has worked salvation in Israel.”


So the Lord saved Israel that day. And the battle passed beyond Beth-aven.


Then Saul went up from pursuing the Philistines, and the Philistines went to their own place.


For he took his life in his hand and he struck down the Philistine, and the Lord worked a great salvation for all Israel. You saw it, and rejoiced. Why then will you sin against innocent blood by killing David without cause?”
