I know, O Lord, that your rules are righteous, and that in faithfulness you have afflicted me.


Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.


All my bones shall say, “O Lord, who is like you, delivering the poor from him who is too strong for him, the poor and needy from him who robs him?”


Reproaches have broken my heart, so that I am in despair. I looked for pity, but there was none, and for comforters, but I found none.


that I may recount all your praises, that in the gates of the daughter of Zion I may rejoice in your salvation.


Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!

Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds,


Let the lowly brother boast in his exaltation,


Be wretched and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom.


For it is better to suffer for doing good, if that should be God’s will, than for doing evil.


The end of all things is at hand; therefore be self-controlled and sober-minded for the sake of your prayers.


And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.


And Hannah prayed and said, “My heart exults in the Lord; my horn is exalted in the Lord. My mouth derides my enemies, because I rejoice in your salvation.
