When they came to the threshing floor of Atad, which is beyond the Jordan, they lamented there with a very great and grievous lamentation, and he made a mourning for his father seven days.


Now Ornan was threshing wheat. He turned and saw the angel, and his four sons who were with him hid themselves.


And David said to Ornan, “Give me the site of the threshing floor that I may build on it an altar to the Lord—give it to me at its full price—that the plague may be averted from the people.”


And when the flame went up toward heaven from the altar, the angel of the Lord went up in the flame of the altar. Now Manoah and his wife were watching, and they fell on their faces to the ground.


When Abigail saw David, she hurried and got down from the donkey and fell before David on her face and bowed to the ground.
