“Reuben, my first son, you are my first child, the first proof of my power as a man. You were the most honored and powerful of all my sons.


A truthful person does not lie—he is a good witness. But a person that can’t be trusted never tells the truth—he is a bad witness.


I was the first thing the Lord made,\par long ago in the beginning.\par


I made David a witness of my power\par for all nations.\par I promised David that he would become\par a ruler and a commander of many nations.”\par


People now ask blessings from the earth.\par \{But in the future,\} they will ask blessings\par from the faithful God.\par People now trust in the power of the earth\par when they make a promise.\par \{But in the future,\} they will trust\par in the faithful God.\par Why? Because the troubles in the past\par will all be forgotten.\par My people will never again\par remember those troubles.\par


Then those people said to Jeremiah, “If we don’t do everything the Lord your God tells us, then we hope the Lord will be a true and faithful witness against us. We know the Lord your God will send you to tell us what to do.


All things were made through him (the Word). Nothing was made without him.


Jesus answered, “Yes, I am saying these things about myself. But people can believe these things I say. Why? Because I know where I came from. And I know where I am going. But you don’t know where I came from or where I am going.


The “Yes” to all of God’s promises is in Christ. And that is why we say “Amen {\cf2\super [3]} ” through Christ to the glory of God.


The man must accept the first child, the son of the wife he doesn’t love. The man must give the first son a double share of all his things. Why? Because that child is his first child. The right of the firstborn [130] child belongs to that child.


No person can see God. But Jesus is exactly like God. Jesus is ruler over all the things that have been made.


Christ is the head of the body. (The body is the church.) Everything comes from him. And he is the Lord {\cf2\super [5]} who was raised from death. So in all things Jesus is most important.


I want you to know that I am trying very hard to help you. And I am trying to help the people in Laodicea and other people who have never seen me.


After this letter is read to you, be sure that it is also read to the church in Laodicea. And you read the letter that I wrote to Laodicea.


The voice said, “Write in a book all these things you see, and send it to the seven churches: to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea.”


and from Jesus Christ. Jesus is the faithful witness. He was first among those to be raised from death. Jesus is the ruler of the kings of the earth.


Then I saw heaven open. There before me was a white horse. The rider on the horse is called Faithful and True. He is right in his judging and in making war.

The One on the throne said to me: “It is finished! I am the Alpha and the Omega, {\cf2\super [158]} the Beginning and the End. I will give free water from the spring of the water of life to any person that is thirsty.


I am the Alpha and the Omega, {\cf2\super [173]} the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.


The angel said to me, “These words are true and can be trusted. The Lord is the God of the spirits of the prophets. {\cf2\super [168]} God sent his angel to show his servants the things that must happen soon.”
