David and the leaders of the army separated Asaph’s sons for special service. Asaph’s sons were Heman and Jeduthun. Their special service was to prophesy {\cf2\super [270]} God’s message by using harps, {\cf2\super [271]} lyres, {\cf2\super [272]} and cymbals. {\cf2\super [273]} Here is a list of the men that served this way:
I will build a temple {\cf2\super [11]} to honor the name of the Lord my God. At the temple we will burn incense {\cf2\super [12]} in front of the Lord, and we will always put the holy bread {\cf2\super [13]} on the special table. We will offer burnt offerings every morning and evening, every Sabbath day, every New Moon, {\cf2\super [14]} and on the other feast days that the Lord our God has commanded us to celebrate. This is a rule for the people of Israel to obey forever.
The Levite singers stood at the east side of the altar. {\cf2\super [86]} All of the singing groups of Asaph, Heman, and Jeduthun were there. And their sons and relatives were there also. Those Levite singers were dressed in white linen. {\cf2\super [87]} They had cymbals, {\cf2\super [88]} lyres, {\cf2\super [89]} and harps. There were 120 priests there with those Levite singers. Those 120 priests blew trumpets.
Solomon offered sacrifices {\cf2\super [140]} every day the way Moses commanded. Sacrifices were to be offered on Sabbath days, {\cf2\super [141]} on the New Moon {\cf2\super [142]} celebrations, and on the three yearly holidays. The three yearly holidays were the Festival of Unleavened Bread, the Festival of Weeks, and the Festival of Shelters.
