Cush’s sons were: Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabtecah.


The queen of Sheba heard about Solomon. So she came to test him with hard questions.


Then the queen of Sheba gave the king about 9,000 pounds [129] of gold. She also gave him many spices and jewels. The queen of Sheba gave to Solomon more spices than anyone has ever brought into Israel.


She traveled to Jerusalem with a very large group of servants. There were many camels carrying spices, jewels, and much gold. She met Solomon and asked him all the questions that she could think of.


Every year people came to see the king. And every person brought a gift. They brought things made from gold and silver, clothes, weapons, spices, horses, and mules.


Why? Because King Solomon had ships that Hiram's men sailed to Tarshish. {\cf2\super [158]} And every three years the ships would return from Tarshish loaded with gold, silver, ivory, apes, and peacocks.


King Xerxes made people pay taxes. All the people in the kingdom, even the faraway cities on the sea coast, had to pay taxes.


Wealthy people from Tyre\par will bring gifts to you\par so they might meet with you.\par


Kings will bring their wealth to you,\par to your palace in Jerusalem.\par


Use your stick to make those “animals”\par do what you want.\par Make the “bulls” and “cows” in those nations obey you.\par You defeated those nations in war.\par Now make them bring silver to you.\par


Sing a new song to the Lord,\par all you people in faraway countries,\par all you people that sail on the seas,\par all you animals in the oceans,\par all you people in faraway places,\par praise the Lord!\par


He will not become weak\par or be crushed until he brings\par justice to the world.\par And people in faraway places\par will trust his teachings.”\par


Why? Because I, the Lord, am your God. I, the Holy One of Israel, am your Savior. I gave Egypt to pay for you. I gave Ethiopia and Seba to make you mine.


I will tell the north: Give my people to me! I will tell the south: Don’t keep my people in prison! Bring my sons and daughters to me from the faraway places!


The Lord, the Holy One of Israel,\par the Protector of Israel says,\par “My Servant is humble.\par He serves rulers.\par But people hate him.\par But, kings will see him,\par and stand \{to honor him\}.\par Great leaders will bow down to him.”\par


The nations will come to your Light (God).\par Kings will come to your bright Light.\par


Herds of camels from Midian and Ephah\par will cross your land.\par Long lines of camels will come from Sheba.\par They will bring gold and incense.\par People will sing praises to the Lord.\par


The faraway lands are waiting for me.\par The great cargo ships are ready to sail.\par Those ships are ready to bring\par your children from faraway lands.\par They will bring silver and gold with them\par to honor the Lord your God,\par the Holy One of Israel.\par The Lord does wonderful things for you.\par


The wise men came to the house where the baby was. They saw the baby with his mother Mary. The wise men bowed down and worshiped the baby. The wise men opened the gifts they brought for the baby. They gave the baby treasures of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. {\cf2\super [23]}
