People tell lies to their neighbors.\par Each and every person flatters {\cf2\super [68]} his\par neighbors with lies.\par


Lord, don’t think of me\par as one of those bad people\par Those people greet their neighbors\par with the word “Shalom.” {\cf2\super [170]} \par But in their hearts they are planning\par bad things against their neighbors.\par


My life is in danger.\par My enemies are all around me.\par They are like man-eating lions,\par with teeth as sharp as spears\par and arrows,\par and tongues as sharp as a sword.\par


Listen to their threats and insults.\par They say such cruel things,\par and they don’t care who hears them.\par


In spite of my important position,\par those people are planning to destroy me.\par It makes them happy\par to tell lies about me.\par In public, they say good things\par about me,\par but in private, they curse me.\par \i (SELAH {\cf2\super [366]})\i0 \par


They have told many bad lies about me.\par Their tongues are like sharp swords,\par their bitter words like arrows.\par


If a person speaks words without thinking, then those words can hurt like a sword. But a wise person is careful with the things he says. His words can heal those hurts.


Then Judas said to Jesus, “Teacher, surely I will not be against you!” (Judas is the one that would give Jesus to his enemies.)
