I am only a poor, helpless man.\par I am truly sad, my heart is broken.\par


I went to God for help.\par And he listened.\par He saved me from all the things I fear.\par


This poor man called to the Lord for help.\par And the Lord heard me.\par He saved me from all my troubles.\par


Some people want good things\par to happen to me.\par I hope those people will be very happy!\par Those people always say,\par “The Lord is great!\par He wants what is best for his servant.”\par


Lord, our God, you have done many wonderful things!\par You have wonderful plans for us.\par No person could list them all!\par I will tell again and again about\par those things\par that are too many to count.\par


Look, my God will help me.\par My Master will support me.\par


The Lord listens to poor, helpless people.\par The Lord still likes people in prison.\par


I am a poor, helpless man.\par God, hurry! Come and save me!\par God, only you can rescue me.\par Don’t be too late!\par

“The poor and needy people look for water,\par but they can’t find any.\par They are thirsty.\par Their tongues are very dry.\par I will answer their prayers.\par I will not leave them and let them die.\par


Jesus said to him, “The foxes have holes to live in. The birds have nests to live in. But the Son of Man {\cf2\super [96]} has no place where he can rest his head.”


You know the grace (kindness) of our Lord Jesus Christ. You know that Christ was rich \{with God\}, but for you he became poor. Christ did this so that you could become rich by his becoming poor.


Listen, my dear brothers and sisters! God chose the poor people in the world to be rich with faith. He chose them to receive the kingdom God promised to people who love him.


People said bad things to Christ, but he did not say bad things to them. Christ suffered, but he did not threaten (speak against) the people. No! Christ let God take care of him. God is the One who judges rightly.


Give all your worries to him, because he cares for you.


\{Jesus is\} the One who says that these things are true. Now he says, “Yes, I am coming soon.”
