Help me escape this trap {\cf2\super [643]} \par so I can praise your name.\par And good people will celebrate with me\par because you took care of me.\par


Look at all the enemies I have.\par They hate me and want to hurt me.\par


I have done only good things.\par But those people will do bad things to me.\par \{Lord,\} give me the good things I deserve.\par


My lying enemies will not keep laughing.\par Surely my enemies will be punished\par for their secret plans. {\cf2\super [219]} \par


I did not do bad things to my friend. {\cf2\super [35]} \par And I did not help my friend’s enemies.\par


I have been good to the people of Judah.\par But now they are paying me back with evil.\par They are trying to trap me and kill me.\par


What great blessings there are for the people that are treated badly for doing good!\par The kingdom of heaven belongs to them.\par


But Jesus said to them, “I have done many good things from the Father. You have seen those things. Which of those good things are you killing me for?”


If you are always trying to do good, then no person can really hurt you.


Don’t be like Cain. {\cf2\super [10]} Cain belonged to the Evil One (the devil). Cain killed his brother \{Abel {\cf2\super [11]} \}. But why did Cain kill his brother? Because the things Cain did were evil, and the things his brother \{Abel\} did were good.


Again David asked, “Will the people of Keilah give me and my men to Saul?”


So David and his men went to Keilah. David’s men fought the Philistines. David’s men defeated the Philistines and took their cattle. In this way, David saved the people of Keilah.


David’s men protected us night and day! They were like a wall around us—they protected us while we were with them caring for the sheep.


{Before David met Abigail,} David was saying, “I protected Nabal’s property in the desert. I made sure none of his sheep were missing. I did all that for nothing! I did good things to him, but he has been bad to me.
