That night, the angel of the Lord went out and killed 185,000 people in the Assyrian camp. When the people got up in the morning, they saw all the dead bodies.


Then Elisha prayed and said, “Lord, I ask you, open my servant’s eyes so he can see.”


God, I called to you for help.\par And you answered me!\par You gave me strength.\par


Lord, you are all around me—\par in front and in back of me.\par You gently put your hand on me.\par


\{God says,\}\par “Call for me when you have troubles!\par I will help you.\par And then you can honor me.”\par


God will command his angels for you,\par and they will protect you\par wherever you go.\par


“You must never do anything bad to women whose husbands are dead or to children without parents.


Someone might give you his coat as a promise that he will pay you the money he owes you. But you must give that coat back to him before the sun goes down.

All the angels are spirits who serve God and are sent to help those people who will receive salvation.
