David and all the Israelites were dancing in front of the Lord and playing all kinds of musical instruments. There were lyres, [36] harps, drums, rattles, instruments made from cypress wood, and cymbals. [37]

Zechariah, Jaaziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Maaseiah, and Benaiah played the alamoth {\cf2\super [165]} lyres. {\cf2\super [166]}

The priests Shebaniah, Joshaphat, Nethanel, Amasai, Zechariah, Benaiah, and Eliezer had the job of blowing trumpets \{as they walked\} in front of the Box of the Agreement. Obed Edom and Jehiah were the other guards for the Box of the Agreement.

So all the people of Israel brought up the Box of the Agreement. {\cf2\super [176]} They shouted, they blew rams’ horns and trumpets, and they played cymbals, {\cf2\super [177]} lyres, {\cf2\super [178]} and harps. {\cf2\super [179]}

David and the leaders of the army separated Asaph’s sons for special service. Asaph’s sons were Heman and Jeduthun. Their special service was to prophesy {\cf2\super [270]} God’s message by using harps, {\cf2\super [271]} lyres, {\cf2\super [272]} and cymbals. {\cf2\super [273]} Here is a list of the men that served this way:

The people who blew the trumpets and the people who sang were like one person. They made one sound when they praised and thanked the Lord. You must bow down as soon as you hear the sound of all the musical instruments. When you hear the horns, flutes, lyres, {\cf2\super [22]} sambucas, {\cf2\super [23]} harps, bagpipes, {\cf2\super [24]} and all of the other musical instruments, you must worship the gold idol. King Nebuchadnezzar has set this idol up.

Also you should blow these trumpets for your special meetings, new moon days, and all your happy times together. Blow the trumpets when you give your burnt offerings and fellowship offerings. This will be a special way for the Lord your God to remember you. I command you to do this; I am the Lord your God.”
