Kore was in charge of the offerings that the people freely gave to God. He was responsible for giving out the collections that were given to the Lord. And he was responsible for giving out the gifts that were made holy for the Lord. Kore was the gatekeeper at the East Gate. His father’s name was Imnah the Levite.


Bless you Lord.\par Teach me your laws.\par


When people begin to understand your word,\par it is like a light showing them\par the right way of living.\par Your word makes even simple people wise.\par


Lord, listen to my happy song.\par Make me wise like you promised.\par


I told you about my life.\par And you answered me.\par Now, teach me your laws.\par


My enemies have surrounded me.\par But the Lord will help me defeat them!\par Then I will offer sacrifices {\cf2\super [164]} in his tent. {\cf2\super [165]} \par I will give the sacrifices\par with shouts of joy.\par I will sing and play songs\par to honor the Lord.\par


Think about the things you will say. And come back to the Lord. Say to him,


“At the special holidays you must bring your burnt offerings, grain offerings, drink offerings, and fellowship offerings. You must give those offerings to the Lord. Those offerings are in addition to any special gift you might want to give to the Lord and any offering that is part of any special promise you make.”


So through Jesus we should never stop offering our sacrifice to God. That sacrifice is our praise, coming from lips that speak his name.
