David ruled over all of Israel. And David made good and fair decisions for all of his people.


Now Solomon was king. He sat on the throne of his father David and was in complete control of his kingdom.


Praise be to the Lord your God! He is happy with you and has put you on his throne to be king for the Lord your God. Your God loves Israel, and supports Israel forever. This is why the Lord has made you king of Israel to do what is fair and what is right.”


God could tell you the secret of wisdom.\par He would tell you that\par every story has two sides.\par Job, listen to me,\par God is not punishing you\par as much as he should.\par


Your kingdom is built on truth and justice.\par Love and faithfulness are servants\par before your throne.\par


The Powerful King loves justice.\par God, you made goodness.\par You brought goodness and fairness\par to Jacob (Israel).\par


Goodness makes a nation great. But sin is a shame to any people.


When a king speaks, his words are law. His decisions should always be fair.


Kings hate people who do evil. Goodness will make his kingdom stronger.


When the king sits and judges people, he must look carefully to separate the evil \{from the good\}.


If a king is fair to poor people he will rule for a long time.


Kings use me to rule.\par Rulers use me to make fair laws.\par


The Lord says,\par “There will be a special time\par when I show my kindness.\par At that time I will answer your prayers.\par There will be a special day\par when I save you.\par At that time I will help you.\par I will protect you.\par And you will be the proof that I have\par an Agreement with the people.\par The country is destroyed now,\par but you will give that land back\par to the people who own it.\par


Power and peace will be in his kingdom. It will continue to grow for this king from David’s family. This king will use goodness and fair judgment to rule the kingdom forever and ever.


“‘A new ruler will come after that northern king. That ruler will send out a tax collector. That ruler will do this so he will have enough money to live in a very rich way. But, in a few years, that ruler will be destroyed. But he will not die in a battle.


People are good at doing bad things\par with both hands.\par Officials ask for bribes.\par Judges take money\par to change their decisions in court.\par “Important leaders” \{don’t make\par good and fair decisions\}.\par They do whatever they want to do.\par


Samuel said, “You did a foolish thing! You did not obey the Lord your God! If you had obeyed God’s command, then he would have let your family rule Israel forever.
