12 You can’t say, “It’s none of my business.” The Lord knows everything. And he knows why you do things. The Lord watches you. He knows. And the Lord will reward you for the things you do.

You have looked deep into my heart.\par You were with me all night.\par You questioned me\par and found nothing wrong.\par I didn’t plan any bad thing.\par


Surely, God knows these things.\par He knows even our deepest secrets.\par


My Master, your love is real.\par You reward or punish a person\par for the things he does.\par

Punish the bad people,\par and help the good people.\par God, you are good.\par And you can look into peoples’ hearts.\par

A person is rewarded because of the good things that he says. In the same way, the work he does gives him profit.


A person thinks everything he does is right. But the Lord judges the real reasons people do things.

The Lord clearly sees everything you do. The Lord watches where you go.


The sins of an evil person will trap him. His sins will be like ropes holding him.


In some country you might see poor people that are forced to work very hard. You might see that this is not fair to the poor people. It is against the rights of the poor people. But don’t be surprised! The ruler that forces those people to work has another ruler that forces him. And there is still another ruler that forces both of these rulers.


But I am the Lord,\par and I can look into a person’s heart.\par I can test a person’s mind.\par I can decide what each person should have.\par I can give each person the right payment\par for the things he does.\par


You plan and do great things, Lord. You see everything that people do. You give reward to people that do good things and you punish people that do bad things—you give them what they deserve.


The Lord does not like for a person\par to cheat another person.\par The Lord does not like any of these things.\par


No, you did not become humble. Instead, you have turned against the Lord of heaven. You ordered the drinking cups from the Lord’s temple to be brought to you. Then you and your royal officials, your wives, and your women servants {\cf2\super [61]} drank wine from those cups. You gave praise to the gods of silver and gold, of bronze, iron, wood, and stone. Those are not really gods, they can’t see, or hear, or understand anything. But you did not give honor to the God who has the power over your life and everything you do.


The Son of Man {\cf2\super [235]} will come again with his Father’s glory and with his angels. At that time, the Son of Man will reward each person for the things he has done.


‘We live with him.\par We walk with him.\par We are with him.’\par


All these things will happen on the day when God will judge the secret things inside of people. The Good News {\cf2\super [15]} that I tell people says that God will judge people through Christ Jesus.


God will reward or punish every person for the things that person has done.


So don’t judge before the right time; wait until the Lord comes. He will shine light on the things that are hidden in darkness. He will make known the secret purposes of people’s hearts. Then God will give every person the praise he should get.


We must all stand before Christ to be judged. Each person will get what he should. Each person will be paid for the things he did—good or bad—when he lived in the earthly body.


I am the One who lives. I was dead, but look: I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades. {\cf2\super [11]}


“Write this to the angel of the church in Thyatira:


I will also kill her followers. Then all the churches will know that I am the One who knows what people feel and think. And I will repay each of you for the things you have done.


“Listen! I am coming soon! I will bring rewards with me. I will repay each person for the things he has done.


But the Lord said to Samuel, “Eliab is tall and handsome. But don’t think about things like that. God does not look at the things people see. People look only at the outside of a person, but the Lord looks at his heart. Eliab is not the right man.”


Don’t continue bragging! Don’t speak proud words! Why? Because the Lord God knows everything, God leads and judges people.


The Lord causes people to die, and he causes them to live. The Lord sends people down to the grave, [21] and he can raise them up {to live again}.


If a person chases you to kill you, the Lord your God will save your life! But the Lord will throw away your enemies like a stone from a sling! [201]
